Chamber Learns of front line cuts at Government Air Services in Gander

It has been brought to the Chamber’s attention that cuts have also taken place at the Government Air Services division of the Department of Works Services and Transportation in Gander. A pilot, two maintenance staff, three call-back pilots have been eliminated and a vacant pilot position will not be filled. NR Provincail Budget 2013

On March 26, 2013 the Provincial Government brought down its 2013/14 Budget. The results of this budget could be devastating for Gander and indeed all of Central NL. The fact that the province will reduce the number of School Boards to TWO from the current five will result in the loss of the Central Nova School Board in Gander which currently employs over 100 people at the Board office.
