Welcome to the Kittiwake Coast

The Kittiwake Coast stretches from Notre Dame Junction in the west to Charlottetown in the east and Fogo Island to the north. It contains 48,000 people in 120 communities within 14,000 square kilometers. The benefit of such a large area is the variety contained within: Sandy beaches, rugged coastlines, island communities and dense forests are all contained within the Kittiwake Coast. This diversity is what makes this region such an attractive area for tourists to visit.

The variety and size of the Kittiwake Coast is so large that it has been divided into several themed sub-zones. The Road to the Isles includes the area from Notre Dame Junction north to Twillingate. The Islands Experience is made-up of Change Islands and Fogo Island. Gander is the hub of the Kittiwake Coast and is busy enough to serve as its own region. The Road to the Shore takes in Gander Bay South and the entire coastal “loop” as far as Gambo. Next is The Road to the Beaches which takes in Glovertown and the Eastport Peninsula. Then, furthest south in the Kittiwake Coast is Terra Nova National Park. Each of these areas contains enough to do and see to be its own tourist destination, which adds to the appeal of the Kittiwake Coast.
