Beothuk Interpretation Centre

The Beothuk Interpretation Centre offers visitors a glimpse into the past history of one of the most interesting native peoples. Archaeological work began on the site in the 1980’s and today it stands at one of Newfoundland’s premier historic sites. The Interpretation centre consists of a movie theatre, archaeological remains, interpretive trail, and the archaeological site. Also located on the interpretive trail is the bronze statue; Spirit of the Beothuk. The Beothuk Interpretation Centre is open from May to October.

Hanns Point Players Dinner Theatre

The newly renovated 2 and 1/2 star Brittany Inns offer guests 34 rooms with top quality staff and service. Located on site is cable TV, suites with jacuzzi, private bath, efficiency units, handicap accessible, large dining room, lounge area, private dining rooms, restaurants, and meeting facilities. Canoe Hill Adventures

Canoe Hill Adventures has been in business since 2002 and since then has offered a fun filled experience for all to enjoy. For beginners they offer a Navigation course along with a variety of different sea kayaking courses. For those at the intermediate level, guided kayak tours are available and for the experienced kayaker, fully equipped kayaks are available to rent and overnight camping facilities are also available. Also available is a fully equipped ship, used for diving. Price range will vary depending on required need. Canoe Hill Adventures is open during the summer months.

Caribou Adventure Tours

Located along route 340 of the Trans Canada Highway, Caribou Adventure Tours offer a wide variety of excursions which include wildlife safaris, hiking, fly fishing, icebergs, and canoeing packages. Package prices will vary depending on specifications. Caribou Adventure Tours has been in operation since 1994 and been growing ever since. The operation is open from May to September. Exploits Adventure Cruises

Located at the Yacht Club in Lewisporte, Exploits Adventure Cruises offers visitors the chance to explore the 19th and 20th century through fishing villages and islands of Exploits Island and Notre Dame Bay. There are a variety of tour packages to choose from including day tours, sunset tours, as well as overnight hiking and camping packages to various islands. Entertainment is provided on the tour. Reservations are not required however they are recommended. Exploits Adventure Cruises runs from May to October.

Hanns Point Memorial Site

Constructed in 1996, the Hann’s Point Memorial Site was erected in memory of those soldiers who lost there lives during World War 11. The memorial is positioned above the town where solders once stood as they looked out to protect oil tanks. The memorial is open year round.

Lewisporte Marina

The Lewisporte Marina has become a major point of interest for visitors and locals of the Lewisporte area. It has been in operation for over a decade and continues to grow and evolve. Anyone over the age of 18 who is willing to pay the membership fee can become a member of the yacht club, and use of the facility is not restricted by residential address. Also available is a cruising guide that contains the basic information required by any marine visitor, Canadian or Foreigner, who wishes to travel the waters of Notre Dame Bay and feel confident about navigation, regulations, weather conditions and tourism options. Known for its relationship with the sea, the museum displays a 28 foot hooked rug and artifacts including ship plans, early fishing equipment and tools. Ocean Treasure Adventures

Ocean Treasure Adventure Cruises travels through the waters of Bay of Exploits and Notre Dame Bay aboard the Beothuk Explorer catamaran that is Transport Canada certified. Considered the eco-tourism specialists of the North, Ocean Treasure Adventures offers the chance to view birds, whales, icebergs and seals while providing biological interpretation. Over The Top Museum

Over the Top Museum provides visitors with valuable information about the people and history of Lewisporte and area. The museum was built in 1916 and contains many artifacts including a replica of winter tilts. Also located on site is a gift shop, washroom facilities and a hiking trail that overlook the community and Exploits Bay. Over the Top Museum is open from July to August.

A CN train has been restored and turned into a museum where visitors can view items that depict the history of the Newfoundland railway. Campbellton U-Pick

Located along Route 340, Campbellton U-Pick has activities for the whole family. Located on site is the option to pick strawberries, raspberries, and black currants. Prices of berries are determined by weight. However, prepackaged berries are also available. Newfoundland pony rides, carriage rides and picnic areas are available. Campbellton U-Pick is open from June to August.
