Twillingate

Twillingate is where the Slades, Nobles, Durders and Merchants from Poole established trade in the mid 1700's. Once the hub of a lucrative fishery in Notre Dame Bay. While in Twillingate be sure to visit the Twillingate Museum and St. Peter's Church which is one of the oldest places of worship in the region. Also in the Twillingate area visit the Town of Crow Head and the Long Point Lighthouse which sits 300 feet above sea level; this makes it the best place in North America to see icebergs along famed "Iceberg Alley". Visitors flock to the Twillingate area to explore its history and discover the mighty icebergs, whales, and birds and to experience all of it up close with boat tours.
